    1. Civ 6 Vs Civ 5

    3. Civ 5 Yield Icons For Mac

Given I havent played Civ5 in a year or so I'm struggling to remember the differences. Still some weird frustrations with resources. I was started on a mid sized island near a continent, no horses, no iron. By the time I got off the island I can only see one horse free and no iron. Having to trade for it. But the other civs making me pay, luckily I'm rich. Some of the interactions are fairly complex, making planning a bit problematic (reading the manual/playing tutorials is for noobs).

    Civ 6 Vs Civ 5

Before you start the actual VM you can use one of the icons on the bottom bar of the Parallels window to set the resources given to that VM. By default, regardless of memory/cores I think Parallels only gives 1 core an 1g (maybe 2g) so any game run is going to suck. Regardless, bootcamp to run CIV 5. I've seen this happen, and I believe a quicker fix than saving / reloading is to just open the map menu (scroll icon to bottom left of minimap) and toggle the 'Yield Icons' option off and then on again. Civ 5 is great. It's a great improvement on the previous versions. At first, it seemed weird and not as good as the others. But as you play it, you see that is actually much better. Management's become A LOT more efficient and clear. The AI, so far, is probably its worst drawback.

It is Civ, nothing MUCH new, same old but with some new. I probably should read some blurb about whats new in Civ6. The AI doesnt seem much better though 'Hi, how ya going, lets be friends!'

, 'Now I hate you'. Off the top of my head i'll try list some interesting things about the game.

Graphically the colours are quite warm welcoming and simple, for those with low end rigs it shouldn't be an issue to run the game now. I actually enjoy playing these games and looking at the finer details which companies seem to be leaving behind these days, I enjoy watching all the tree swaying around in different directions depending on where the wind is, I enjoy looking at my military units and seeing their ranks on their clothes and you get the picture. There is no fine detail in this game, it is just simple un-taxing detail, very much like you'd fine in an online mobile game. The game It's self feels as though it play longer / slower than Civ 5, the tech tree is quite a bit different.

Instead of researching each new tech, there are now these (forget the name) cards that your government can adopt, they are military based(red), economics based(yellow), great people based(purple) and green cards that I forget There is now a government system for the cards ^, there is 9 in total to choose from but only they are era dependant and you really only choose between 3 at a time, they allow you to use so many of each card and have additional perks. The district system is quite interesting, so instead of using your city as the grounds for building banks and barracks and armories and the different kinds of theatres and so on, they now go in districts which can be time consuming unless you're aztec which can use 1 builder action to burn 1/5 of the max time it should take. Time fame wise, i'd say it'd be in teh same league as building a wonder in civ 5. Say i build a military district. Yay, it doesn't help me build units, they can already be build but!

It allows me to build the barracks / stables / (insert name here) so when i recruit troops they get extra exp on creation. Now whilst I've got the military district, providing I've done the right research I should be able to build a militaristic wonder in a tile next to the district. I am yet to find a way to speed up the construction of a wonder. I did not get any great engineers last game to test.

I think the spying is quite fun now and once the research is done you aren't given them, you have to build them and I think it's 1 per city depending on their population? When yo select a spy you go through the list of who you want to jump on and it shows all the districts each ally or enemy city has, the more districts then the more options you have. I had the choices 'do something for 6-8 turns and be a 100% better spy for 24 turns' I had 100% chance to complete that, hands down no brainer there. Steal a work of art, which was 25% - 50% (before and after doing the 1st choice) Be an informate and persuade the government for political reasons 100% Steal a technology 37% - 74% After increasing my spies effectiveness I went to steal some tech, so I chose the option then it gave me the run down, 74% chance to succeed, 20% chance to fail and 6% chance to die. Depending on how the thief does also depends on what happens. I've had some easy tech steal where he steal the tech and returns back to me.

I've had times where he stole tech then he was found out. When he was found out it gives you the list, 'thiefs name' 'what he may have stolen' 'who is chasing him' - police 'Potential escape route based on what that city has built' plane, boat, car, foot and provides the time it will take to do each route as well as the risks involved. Foot is the safest and slowest. Now the interesting thing, if your spy is captured you can now offer a trade to get him back:O Special people don't necessarily do the same thing. The great scientist can spend so many points on science of build a lab producing so much science.

Not any more, hard to explain and I can't remember but I think I had around 5+ different variations. There are a lot of barbarians now and they have scouts. Can't really think of anything else worth mentioning. Click to expand.I'm genuinely curious, in what way were you expecting to be 'blown away'? I've been playing the Civilization series since the early 1990's and I don't think any of the series has blown me away and nor would I expect them to. I think the many releases have always been about slowly improving and refining the game through the way of features and improved AI to name a few, not to mention upgrading the graphics and UI for the hardware available at the time.

It's not really the type of game where you could go nuts with the development for fear of straying too far from what makes the original series a winner. In saying that I'm yet to have a decent crack at the game besides initially playing around due to a lack of spare time at the moment. Hoping to get stuck into it soon! Click to expand.I was slightly erect when I fired it up and heard the music, and I'm enjoying the game immensely, but its a TBS game, its rare that you will get blown away by a TBS, especially Civ, which is more about incremental increases, rather than whole new things. One thing I can't seem to find is 'Show Tile Yields' or similar.

Dunno if its not in the game, or I'm just being retarded. It feels like a more 'Complete' game than Civ 4 and 5 did at Launch (Civ 4 BTS was the 'Complete' Civ 4). It doesn't feel like bits of the game have been missed out on, so that they can be included in expansions down the road.

I'm struggling with some of the new Systems, and don't get me started on Barbarinos actually mattering. I'm thoughrly enjoying it so far, and while Sean Bean is no Leonard Nimoy.

Having Ned Stark read out tech quotes does at a certain Gravitas to them though. I also find the art style a bit.I dunno how to explain it.it's hard to see what's going on on the map compared to Civ V. Maybe I just need more time with it. That's two sequels I've felt a bit meh about in the last few weeks.

I've been playing Divinity Original Sin 2 as well and it's left me a bit cold. Probably because it just feels like more of the same of the original game.
